Located in the Swansea Bay Area, Multibank Cymru (previously Cwtch Mawr Multibank) is operated by a local charity called Faith in Families.
Since its launch in March 2024, Multibank Cymru has worked hand in hand with community support organisations, schools and colleges, homeless shelters, and elderly support services across the Swansea Bay, Neath and Port Talbot areas to combat the effects of poverty.
More than 1 in 3 children are living in poverty across Wales, with 32,500 children and young people in the Swansea Bay area alone caught up in the poverty epidemic. By redistributing surplus items such as warm clothes, hygiene products, school uniforms and bedding donated by businesses like Amazon, Multibank Cymru provides material comfort and dignity for children, young people and their families. Together with The Multibank’s Coalition of Compassion and Faith in Families’ regional leadership, Multibank Cymru helps foster opportunities, security and the chance to experience the joy and freedom of childhood.
