West Midlands Multibank, operated by Birmingham Voluntary Service Council (BVSC), launched in March 2025.
Birmingham and the wider West Midlands region face some of the highest levels of child poverty in the country. In Birmingham alone, over 40% of children are living in poverty and across the region, individuals and families are experiencing hardship, with increasing pressures from rising living costs, housing insecurity, and limited access to basic essentials. These challenges impact children’s health, wellbeing and education, and prevent adults from building safe and stable lives for themselves and their families.
West Midlands Multibank aims to support as many people as possible and is powered by partnership. Every day, charities, voluntary and public sector teams help us redistribute surplus or donated essential items from businesses to the people and families who need them most.
